Company
profile
Thyborøn
Nordsø Ral A/S was founded in 1995. Our company has a wealth of
experience in the gravel industry as Thyborøn Nordsø Ral A/S was
originally a division of Vejlby Grusleje – a 50 year-old gravel pit
located approximately 10 km west of Lemvig in Denmark. Production at
Vejlby Grusleje ceased in 2001, after which we transferred our
activities to Thyborøn Nordsø Ral.
Quality
requirements for gravel are very high, as generally the building
industry may use only the very best materials for all types of
building projects. The offshore aggregate supplied by Thyborøn Nordsø
Ral A/S is proven to meet even the highest quality requirements and,
as a result, sales are significant and growing.
In
2008, Thyborøn Nordsø Ral A/S became part of the large Belgian
concern, Group de Cloedt, which has more than a century of experience
within the industry.
Also
in 2008, Thyborøn Nordsø Ral moved from Thyborøn harbour to new and
larger facilities at the city’s new South Terminal. The company now
has 82,000 m2 of storage and production facilities and 200 m of dock
front with 8 m-deep water at its disposal. Ships up to 10.000 tonnes
can dock here. The company has invested in new aggregate grading plant
with capacity to sort 500–700 tonnes of aggregate per hour.
Thyborøn
Nordsø Ral A/S is a well established and professional company
employing eight staff. Our brand new South Terminal facility includes
a 700 m2 warehouse, 200 m2 of office space, our own laboratory and
modern changing room facilities.
Natural
sea aggregate is extracted from the Jutland Bar in the
North Sea
. The aggregate is then shipped to port where it is pumped ashore,
graded and mixed. Modern and highly efficient equipment is used for
grading and delivering the offshore aggregate. In 2008, the company
purchased the largest Volvo Wheel Loader L350F, which can carry 25
tonnes per load.
At
our dock, we load ships with graded aggregate for our Danish, German,
Dutch and Belgian customers. Today, our loading capacity is 800–900
tonnes per hour, but planned investments in new loading facilities
will increase this figure to approximately 1,500 tonnes per hour.
With
brand new and state-of-the-art facilities at our South Terminal,
Thyborøn Nordsø Ral is well equipped to the meet the challenges of
the future.
